Leonardo's Hand

Warwick Downing

Leonardo's Hand:

Kings and princes in Renaissance Italy called Leonardo da Vinci "Master," to honor his inventive and artistic genius. But the nicest thing anyone ever called Leonard Smith was "Nard." A 13-year-old orphan, he had been born with a stub on the end of his left arm instead of a hand . . .

Then the disembodied left hand of Leonardo da Vinci walks into Nard's life and insists on calling him "Master."

Wick Downing is a Denver author who has written nine novels (primarily murder mysteries and courtroom dramas) under both the name Wick and Warwick Downing. His most recent publication, Leonardo's Hand, is a novel for young readers about an orphan boy, Leonard Smith, who encounters the 500-year-old disembodied hand of Leonardo da Vinci.
